Software on Macs is usually laid out a little differently, has different shortcuts, and occasionally has slightly different functionality.

99% of what our courses cover is applicable to Macs, but to avoid confusion, we do not use Macs in our training centres, and they are not suitable for attending our online training.

Noise in a photograph is the unwanted variations in brightness and colour that make them less sharp and clear.

Learning noise reduction is a key part of producing top-quality images.

Bridge is a digital asset manager that allows you to find, manage and organise large collections of photos, which is why Photoshop users often speak about it.

Its use isn’t limited to Photoshop, as it can be used for all sorts of digital assets.

Raster-based means Photoshop stores images as millions of tiny dots (technically squares) of colour called pixels. It is one of two ways to store images.

This means that the higher the DPI (dots per inch) the higher the image quality and the more it can be zoomed into without compromising the image’s quality.

The other way to store an image is using vectors. Vector images are a combination of lines and paths (curves). This means that they remain high quality no matter how much you zoom in.

Confusingly, Photoshop contains a few vector tools including the pen tool, text and shape tools.
