Public Speaking FAQs
For General FAQs and Booking questions, see our FAQ Page.
Going blank mid-speech is one of the most common fears people bring to our training, and it almost always has the same root cause:
Attempting to recall a script word-for-word under pressure.
When anxiety spikes, your working memory takes the hit – and if you’re trying to remember exact wording, a moment of nerves can derail you completely.
The solution isn’t better memorisation; it’s knowing your material well enough that you don’t need to.
Structuring your talk around three to five key points, rather than a written script, gives you much more resilience.
No – and this is one of the most persistent myths about public speaking.
Some of the most effective speakers are introverts. Introverts tend to prepare thoroughly, listen carefully, and speak with precision – all genuine strengths in front of an audience.
The disadvantage some introverts face is simply that they’ve had less practice speaking up in groups, which is something that can be addressed directly.
Public speaking skills and presentation skills are very similar.
Public speaking training focuses on how you speak without the aid of a presentation. This is usually speaking to a large group of people with questions at the end.
Presentations on the other hand tend to be to smaller groups and often will have questions throughout.
Yes absolutely!
It is a learned skill just like any other.
Although they may appear to be naturals trust us when we say that all the good ones have had plenty of coaching and practice!
